Architect Project Manager

MAI is currently seeking applicants for the position of Architect Project Manager. Those applying are expected to fulfill the following duties/expectations:

Responsibilities:

  • Report to Principal Architect and Interior Design Director
  • Participate in all phases of the design process, from schematic design through construction administration and installation
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate design plans with other members of the project team, including internal architectural and interior design teams, MEP Engineers and on-site construction personnel
  • Complete full design packages – from programming through construction administration – in a timely fashion, with attention to deadlines and budgets
  • Select materials that meet engineering, aesthetic and cost requirements
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of all contract documents including, but not limited to specifications and drawings; construction drawings (full set); submittals and construction administration materials
  • Review RFI’s, shop drawings and material submittals
  • Conduct on-site observations and provide construction documentation throughout the construction administration phase of work
  • Work closely with clients towards a finished project that meets the standards of both client and firm

Abilities/Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of a professional bachelor’s degree in architecture
  • MUST be a licensed architect
  • MUST have minimum 10 years’ experience working professionally in commercial and residential design with a portfolio that is representative of their range and individual professional ability
  • MUST have minimum 3 years’ experience as a project manager
  • Strong in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; Adobe Photoshop Sketchup a plus
  • Exceptional written, verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Passion for providing client-centered design, exceptional client service and responsiveness
  • Familiarity with national and state building code, fire code, zoning ordinances
  • The ability to self-motivate and work independently while also possessing the positivity, flexibility and communication skills necessary to work as a member of a team
