SUMMARY:WEBINAR: RI Residential Energy Code Envelope & Building Science
DESCRIPTION:1 LU | HSW \nPresented by CLEAResult \nRegistration required \nCourse Description: A healthy home is a dry\, clean\, safe\, ventilated\, maintained\, and thermally controlled environment. On average people spend at least 50 percent of their day inside their homes. Unhealthy housing puts residents at risk of health issues such as asthma and other chronic diseases. Due to the age of the housing stock in Rhode Island residents are at greater risk of health issues associated with building design and housing conditions. \nThe session will focus on the building enclosure in residential remodel/renovation and new construction projects. Participants will learn about best practice strategies for building assemblies\, from foundations through roofs. Using case studies\, exercises\, and discussion we will show proven methods that have enabled builders and designers to build cost effective high-performance homes. Information about Zero Energy Homes\, Zero Energy Ready Homes and RI Stretch Codes will also be shared. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nParticipants will learn about energy code compliance and best practice strategies for building assemblies\, from foundations through roofs.\nInformation about Zero Energy Homes and Zero Energy Ready Homes is discussed.\nStretch Codes is included.\nTechniques and materials that help meet the current energy code and result in high performance residential buildings.
