SUMMARY:In-Person: RIMiAD Manufacturing Visit
DESCRIPTION:Presented by AA Sign & Awning \nRIMiAD is very excited to bring our community to our second ever Manufacturing Visit. Last year we saw Lighting Manufacturing and this year we have the opportunity to see where signage and awnings are fabricated right here in our state. Join us on Wednesday\, June 24th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at AA Sign & Awning at 221 Jefferson Blvd Warwick\, RI 02888 for some light refreshments and a tour of the facilities. \n  \nRegister \nEstablished in 1946 by Al Andrews\, AA Sign & Awning earned renown for its quality and service. Al’s legacy lives on with “The Al Andrews Award\,” given annually by the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and the City of Warwick. After Al’s passing in 1986\, George and Carolyn Daubmann took over\, spurring significant growth. They expanded services\, diversified into residential and commercial awnings\, and relocated to a 15\,000-square-foot facility in Warwick\, Rhode Island. In 2023\, Darryl Lindie found AA Sign & Awning as a business with the strong track record\, a high standard for products provided\, and many opportunities to grow. He decided to acquire the business and became the new owner in July 2023.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Commercial - Introduction to Commercial Building Commissioning
DESCRIPTION:Presented by CLEAResult \nRegister \nThis session will highlight how building commissioning supports owner’s energy conservation goals across all commercial buildings\, from smaller simple buildings to high-performance complex buildings. During this webinar we will discuss actual project case studies highlighting how the commissioning process was executed and how it met the energy efficiency code requirements at each step along the way. \nLearning Objectives\n\nWhat is commissioning? How to verify and document\, learn about the value and what is required for green building What are the current commercial energy codes and versions.\nBuilding Commissioning is an often-overlooked chapter in the commercial energy code\, but it highly impacts energy performance of buildings. The most energy efficient equipment only performs correctly if it has been installed and controlled properly. Learn when and why commissioning is mandated and how\, once done accurately\, the benefits of commissioning on occupant health and wellbeing are recognizably improved.\nWe will discuss commissioning systems\, tasks\, plans\, specifications\, functional performance testing\, reporting and Operations & Maintenance\nLearn about Rhode Island energy codes currently in effect and\n\nPrerequisite Knowledge\nOccupants feel better\, in terms of both physical health and mood. Some examples of performance issues that affect comfort are temperature extremes\, humidity extremes\, excessive airspeed from ventilation\, unpleasant odors\, and noise. \nHSW Justification\nOccupants feel better\, in terms of both physical health and mood. Some examples of performance issues that affect comfort are temperature extremes\, humidity extremes\, excessive airspeed from ventilation\, unpleasant odors\, and noise. \n  \nRICode C24-101
