SUMMARY:Sharing Experience and Community through Design
DESCRIPTION:{{design-week-logo}}  \nHow do decisions about our physical environment shape our daily experiences? From ergonomic seating to lighting controls\, it is commonly acknowledged that the design of our surroundings has critical impact on productivity in the workplace and performance in the classroom. However\, in addition to these metrics of efficiency\, the design spaces of work\, learning and creativity can also enhance a sense of mission and shared purpose in today’s institutional\, organization\, and corporate settings. From the application of material and graphic strategies to the programming of unique places of interaction and engagement\, designing the physical environment is an opportunity to represent\, amplify\, and project the collective aspirations and activities of an organization and its community. \nJoin Ben Pell (PellOverton Architects) and Ted Peffer (iolabs) for a presentation of recent architecture and environment design that explore these ideas through spaces and surfaces . Ben and Ted will discuss the ways in which approaches to material\, form\, color \, graphics and scale have resulted in thoughtfully constructed environments that promote community through design. \nFREE PROGRAM2 LU / HSW \nAIA Rhode Island is excited to partner with DesignXRI on the organization of this program for Design Week RI 2018. \nLEARN MORE >\n{{designweek-pelloverton}} \nimage courtesy of Pelloverton
