Course description: Stephen Turner Inc.’s commissioning professionals work to bridge gaps between building designers, builders, and operators. Recent commissioning engagements have revealed vulnerabilities in the design and installation of head flashings, which are a humble but critical component of the building envelope.
They will share field observations and lessons learned concerning head flashings. Real-world examples of proper and improper installations will be provided, and consequences for air and water intrusion will be identified. Attendees will be asked to contribute their own experience and preferred details to improve installation outcomes industry wide. Funded by Rhode Island Energy
