Note From President
Greetings Members, Future-members, Colleagues, and Friends,
Thank you for the opportunity to be your 2024 president. It’s a privilege and an honor to represent the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Institute. I wish to thank the previous administration for their mentorship and their kind support.
Some of the goals for this upcoming year are to increase membership, incentivize licensure, and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion for all architects. Additionally, to constantly keep our membership well informed with regards to designing opportunities locally, we will foster alliances with the design community such as the International Interior Designers Association (IIDA), Design-RI, GrowSmart RI, and Rhode Island Minorities in Architecture & Design (RIMAD).
Our Strategic Plan is in year four and aligned with the initial goals set for 2025, please see the Bylaws section on our website. We are in communication with government agencies pursuing advocacy for concerns that affect our profession.
The post pandemic era created opportunities for remote learning, and we have provided webinars for Continuing Education Units on a weekly basis. Keeping our membership informed so they can meet the Board of Design Professionals requirements for licensure is an invaluable benefit.
Our Board of Directors works diligently every month in concert with the Chapter Committees, Chapter Partners, and the College of Fellows.
I’m looking forward to meeting many of you during our upcoming events. Your opinion, your input, your participation, matters.
REMEMBER OUR MISSION
