Francois Karam is an Architectural Specialist with The Garland Company, where he partners with architects, engineers, and building owners to deliver high performance building envelope solutions across New England. With a strong focus on the commercial and institutional sectors, Francois brings a holistic approach to roof and façade design, combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of long term performance and sustainability.
Beyond his professional role, Francois is deeply engaged in the architecture and construction community. He currently serves on the Board for ACE Rhode Island, helping connect high school students with career pathways in the AEC industry. He is also a Mentor with RIMIAD, where he works to inspire and guide emerging professionals in architecture and design. Part of a variety of committees including ACE, RIMIAD, and AIA RI. Also mentors ACE students who are interested in the industry.
Francois is passionate about bridging the gap between design intent and building performance, advocating for innovation, education, and mentorship within the architectural profession. Joining the AIA Rhode Island Board represents his commitment to supporting local architects, fostering the next generation of design professionals, and strengthening collaboration across disciplines.
