Go behind the scenes of the phased renovation of a historic 1939 residence hall during this exclusive construction tour. Participants will experience firsthand how the project team is transforming a landmark campus building while maintaining ongoing campus operations and preserving its historic character. Learn how construction sequencing and phasing have been carefully planned to support the building program, minimize disruption, and maintain student housing capacity throughout the renovation.
The tour will also showcase the restoration of significant historic features—including Gothic wood paneling, original millwork, and the building’s masonry envelope—while highlighting the integration of modern building systems, accessibility improvements, life safety upgrades, and contemporary finishes. This is a unique opportunity to see the challenges and solutions of historic rehabilitation in progress and gain practical insights from the project team.
Parking will be available under the tennis courts; participants will meet in front of Moore Hall.
Construction Tour Safety Requirements
For the safety of all participants, closed-toe shoes are required. Please bring your own hard hat and high-visibility safety vest for the tour.
A limited number of hard hats and safety vests will be available to borrow for anyone who forgets to bring them.
