Description:
Learn about Rhode Island Commercial Energy Code on a tour of the East Providence High School, the largest high school in Rhode Island built under a state program. This tour and training will highlight how the project was built to meet the State Energy code. This project is also required to design and implement all the requirements of NE-CHPS as defined by the Rhode Island Department of Education RIDE.
This building tour, sponsored by Rhode Island Energy, hosted by CLEAResult, and presented by Dr. Joseph da Silva, Coordinator, School Building Authority and Stephen Turner, President of Stephen Turner Inc., will feature the East Providence High School building located in East Providence, Rhode Island.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn about the current Rhode Island commercial energy codes, energy code background and energy code compliance pathways
- Learn how energy efficiency measures were incorporated into the building design
- Learn about the high-performance building enclosure with improved thermal envelope and high efficiency HVAC equipment and lighting controls
- Learn about Rhode Island Energy’s Energy Code program, which offers free training and technical support
