WEBINAR: Residential – Energy Code Update

The Rhode Island House of Representatives passed H6101/S0855 Sub A which requires the state to adopt the residential 2024 IECC within 3 months of publication. This course will identify and help to understand the changes between old and new IECC requirements.
Learning Objectives
This course will identify significant changes from the current RI-SBC 8 to the 2024 IECC including: Prescriptive R-value and U-values.
• Alternative compliance strategies including Simulated Performance and ERI path, Mechanical ventilation, Duct leakage, Whole building airtightness, and Electric ready provisions
• Learn best practice strategies for building assemblies including design and material selection.
• Learn about performance compliance strategies, common pitfalls and proven methods that have enabled builders and designers to build cost effective homes that will comply with the 2024 IECC.
• Rhode Island Energy and Office of Energy Resources program options, incentives, and rebates to help achieve compliance will be discussed.
