In 1998, the AIAri Golf Classic was conceived with the vision of providing a source of scholarship funding for Rhode Island students pursuing a career in architecture. With the escalating cost of a higher education, this event has been a valuable and necessary avenue to assist students with their education. The AIAri Golf Classic has raised close to $300,000 since its inception, and because of your support, it has helped many students. We thank you for that, and are appreciative of the commitment you have made to the next generation of architects.
Like any successful event, there comes an opportunity to analyze the vision, the sustainability of the event, and the impact it has on our community partners and supporters. This year is that year for the AIAri Golf Classic. We are taking this year to re-brand the event, find ways to improve it, and develop a scholarship campaign that will reach more students and offer them added assistance. The event will be back next year, and we are looking forward to a renewal of support from the community.
While the AIAri Golf Classic is taking a year off, we will not be interrupting our mission. Scholarships will still be awarded this year to deserving students. We continue to accept donations to The Forum, which can be mailed to the address below.
I would personally like to thank everyone who has donated in the past for their support. While the AIAri Golf Classic is always an enjoyable day of golf, the real enjoyment is seeing the students with their families and their appreciation of how we have supported their education. We hope you will consider making a donation this year in lieu of participating in the golf classic. It will help keep our mission alive!
