The updated RI Fire Code came into effect on 2/28/2019. There was a grace period (2/28/2019 to 3/30/2019) where you could use either the 2012 edition or the 2015 edition of the referenced codes.

The new Fire Code, incorporates the 2015 Editions of NFPA 1 (Fire Code) and NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) as well as the 2013 Edition of NFPA 72.

The concurrency period only lasts until April 1 unless a variance is granted by the Fire Safety Code Board of Appeal & Review.
