Greetings Rhode Island High Performance School Stakeholders,

It is a new year and the Public Review Draft for NE-CHPS v3.0 has been released for public comment. This public draft has been developed by Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) in partnership with the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership (NEEP) and regional stakeholders. This update to the Northeast CHPS Criteria used Version 2.0 of the CHPS National Core Criteria as the basis for its update. Public comments will be accepted until 5:00pm of Thursday, February 6th.

This public comment period represents a key opportunity for Rhode Island design professionals to provide crucial feedback regarding their experiences and insights from using NE-CHPS criteria as required by Rhode Island’s School Construction Regulations. A webinar has been scheduled for January 24th where an overview of the development of NE-CHPS 3.0 will be presented and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. I encourage anyone involved in the planning, design and construction of schools in Rhode Island to review this draft and provide comments and recommendations on items you feel strongly about.

On behalf of AIAri COTE I will be happy to arrange a working group at the AIAri Window to collaboratively discuss any concerns and recommendations and develop comments to be submitted on behalf of AIAri. Here’s to the advancement of our built environment!
