Title: Inside/Outside: Establishing an Identity for The Roger Williams Park Botanical Center
Time: 5.30-6.30pm

Course Description: The Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is the largest public indoor display garden in New England located on a 15-acre site. Owned by the City of Providence, it has gained an identity and been transformed over the past 15 years by the implementation of a Master Plan. This project has become a Providence destination and exemplifies the connection of indoor and outdoor spaces. The use of diverse plant communities including native and adaptive plants speaks to the vision of creating a sustainable landscape. The project also demonstrates how ADA accessibility can be achieved in a public garden with a challenged terrain. Please join the Searle Design Group, of Providence to see their original Master Plan and to gain a unique view into first three phases of construction. The presentation will include before, during and after visuals related to the construction process, and will be followed by guided tours.

Earth Day Sample Collection

To celebrate Earth Day, IIDA Philanthropy Committee is coordinating a ‘sample collection’ in Boston and Providence. All samples donated will benefit Resources Recycling for RI Education . They are a registered 501c3 non-profit that help stimulate creative learning by offering low-cost and no-cost materials for educators. Providence drop off will be at the Green RI registration table. Vendor Sign-Up:
Does your company have new sustainable products that you want to share with the Rhode Island design community? Has your company always been “green” and you have a whole line of products that are now more in demand than ever before? This is your chance to show these great products to the designers in Rhode Island. Space is limited so please complete the online application by 4/1/2015.

Once reviewed and accepted, we will provide a link for you to pay the $275 exhibit fee (due 4/15/16)

Green RI Raffle
We are currently seeking vendors willing to donate to the Green RI raffle effort. We encourage vendors to include locally made items, gift certificates supporting local businesses, or other items relating to sustainability. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out to Brittani Fleury at bfleury@vision3architects.com for more information. The cut-off for raffle donations will be Friday, April 15th. All raffle proceeds will be donated to a local charity, charity TBD.
