{{green-ri-2017}}IIDANE Providence City Center, AIAri, and RISLA are joining together to host the 2017 Green RI Sustainable Product Showcase this May. Companies producing earth-friendly building materials will be setting up shop to display their latest and greatest products for industry members to view. In addition to exploring the tradeshow floor, attendees will have the opportunity to attend CEU presentations, network with peers, and learn about the latest innovations regarding sustainable products from various vendors. The event also includes an Earth Day sample collection so fill up a box (or three!) as you’re spring cleaning your material library and donate unused/unwanted sample materials at the event!

5:30 – 8:30 p.m. – Sustainable Design Showcase & Networking

CEU Presentations – 4:30 – 7:30:
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. “Trace it Back: A Course in Transparency” provides an overview of materials transparency and how it relates to green building, and socially and environmentally responsible manufacturing. A representative from 3form will explain product life cycle and how materials potentially affect the environment and health of building occupants. CEUs available: AIA 1 HSW/LU hour, ASLA 1 credit/HSW, IDCEC 1 credit/subject code 5, USGBC 1 GBCI CE Hour”
5:30 – 6:30 p.m. “Living Green Walls” A presentation by Green Plants for Green Buildings that offers a comprehensive overview of living walls systems and their benefits. The presentation provides a summary of the research being done on living walls, requirements and design features for successful plantings, best practices, health and well-being benefits, general costs and the overall benefits to the environment. CEUs available: AIA 1 HSW/LU hour, ASLA 1 credit, IDCEC 0.1 credit/subject code 4, USGBC 1 GBCI CE Hour
6:30 – 7:30 p.m. “Incentives, Assistance and Training: Demystifying Services to Support Your Energy Efficient and High Performance Sites, Buildings and Interiors” will explain how your next project can benefit from National Grid’s New Construction Services Program, presented by Kathleen Arthur of National Grid. CEUs available: AIA 1 HSW/LU hour, ASLA 1 credit/HSW, IDCEC credit pending accredidation.
5:30 – 8:30 p.m. – Earth Day Sample Collection: Donate your unused or unwanted sample materials!
In the spirit of Earth Day, a sample collection effort has been organized for the day of the event so don’t forget to bring your old materials and samples! All samples donated will benefit Resources Recycling for RI Education. They are a registered 501c3 non-profit that help stimulate creative learning by offering low-cost and no-cost materials for educators. A drop-off location will be available at the entrance of the event.
