Historic Terra Cotta Floor Systems

A special presentation by Donald Friedman, PE on the topic of historic terra cotta floor systems. In this {1½/2} hour session Donald will discuss five types of floor system: flat end construction, flat side construction, segmental, proprietary, and with concrete joists.
Donald is president of Old Structures Engineering, PC, in New York City, consulting on historic structures for architects, engineers, and building owners. He is the author of Historical Building Construction and the Investigation of Buildings. He has also taught at the Pratt Institute, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.
This event is organized by the Structural Engineers Association of Rhode Island.
