About Signal Works

Signal Works is a mission-driven Providence-based architecture firm based. Our work Broken Buildings into Purposeful Places through our specializations in Innovative Schools, Urban Rehabilitations and Values-Aligned Work Environments. Our efforts have been recognized by Grow Smart Rhode Island, Providence Business News and others with distinctions ranging from Historic Preservation to Restaurant Interiors. Many are already familiar with our work for AAA Northeast, the Providence G and Trinity Academy of Performing Arts.

We apply our values of “People-Focused, Place-Based and Purpose Driven” to how we design our projects, operate our company and care for our team. To help us measure our social impact, we became first certified B-Corp Architect in Southern New England. We put our best ideas into practice in our own space, converting an 1850s gasometer in Olneyville—the Atlantic Design Works– into a breathtaking office, and a business hub for early-stage creative food entrepreneurs.

Begun in 2011 as Studio MEJA, we recently rebranded as we aligned our company with its values:
To us, buildings are more than structures; they’re signals broadcasting a mission.
Together, we can make an impact for your values.
We are Signal Works: Turning Broken Buildings into Purposeful Places. Develop Underserved Areas into Powerful Places

Signal Works lives its People-Focused, Place-Based and Purpose-Driven values by providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type protected by federal, state, or local laws.
