Course Description: The effort to improve the Energy Efficiency of buildings is primarily driven by Energy Codes and Green Standards. This course covers the latest developments in the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ASHRAE standards.
Attendees will learn how to select vertical fenestration systems that meet these new requirements and whole building energy goals. Total fenestration system performance (frame and glazing) is also reviewed, including compliance methods for the commercial market such as AAMA 507 and NFRC Component Modeling Approach (CMA).
Learning objectives:
- Understand Energy Code requirements for vertical fenestration systems.
- Learn how to select proper fenestration system to meet the solar and thermal performance requirements of a project.
- Maximize daylight with the use of shading devices with proper fenestration design choices.
- Understand compliance methods with AAMA 507 and NFRC’s Component Modeling Appt/roach (CMA).
