WEBINAR: Leveraging the Properties of Low Carbon Concrete in Buildings

Tue August 20 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

1 LU | HSW

Presented by NRMCA, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association

Registration

Course Description: Concrete is an essential element of construction, as no other material equals its resilience, strength, and wide availability. However, it’s responsible for 8% of global carbon dioxide emissions.

This session will analyze the strategies, tactics, innovations, and best practices used to decarbonize concrete and move toward net zero. You’ll examine how net-zero embodied and operational emissions in buildings can be achieved by construction materials solutions. Plus, deep dive into a context-specific lifecycle assessment of current and future building stocks and explore a framework to better understand and track emerging innovations in the industry.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore the current and future level of lifecycle emissions in buildings at both national and regional scales.
  • Study the role of materials and concrete solutions in reducing the embodied and operational emissions of buildings.
  • Discover cost-efficient construction material solutions in the net-zero embodied and operational impact estimation.
  • Delineate the role of architects in achieving carbon-neutrality.
