Course description: This presentation discusses Rhode Island’s anticipated adoption of the IECC-2024 energy code updates to architectural building envelope design details, particularly those related to air-sealing and insulation. Also discussed will be its anticipated impact on design, construction, and commissioning of major renovations and new construction. Code-complaint envelope improvements could improve occupant comfort and reduce building loads by allowing mechanical systems to be downsized.
